Mechanical Switches

Micro Slide Switch

A micro slide switch with SPDT contacts. The body measures just 8.5 x 3.5 x 3.5mm with solder pins on a 2.5mm pitch. Contacts are rated 0.3A. There are no mounting holes so the switch body must be glued into place.

Ultra-Micro Slide Switch

A really tiny slide switch with SPDT contacts. The body measures just 6.7 x 4.1 x 1.9mm. The contacts are rated at 0.3A. The switch is a surface mount type so there are no solder tags, wire must be soldered onto the SMD pads. There are no mounting holes so the switch body must be glued into place.

Also available with 100mm wires or mounted on a 15x7mm PCB with M2 mounting holes.

Micro SPDT Toggle Switch

A tiny SPDT 2-way toggle switch. The body measures 8.64mm x 8.13mm x 5.95mm. Max switch current is 3A at 28V DC. Useful in model rail installations for on/off(charge) switching.

Available as a bare switch with solder tags, with 100mm leads or with leads and JR/Hitec connectors for battery, receiver and charge.

toggle switch only

Mini SPDT 3-Way Toggle Switch

A small single pole 3-way toggle switch, available in centre-biased and non-biased (latching) versions. The body measures 8.89mm x 12.70mm x 6.86mm. Max switch current is 5A at 28V DC.

Electronic Switches

MSW11a 3A E-Switch

A small self-contained electronic switch. The PCB measures 20mm x 10mm and can have an on-board reed switch or remote reed or push button. The max current is 3A at max 13V DC. An on-board LED provides feedback of the switching action and switch state, it can also be connected to a Micron receiver LED2 output. Useful in model vehicle installations where a physical switch would be obtrusive.

The unit can be activated with either a reed switch or a push button; both can be connected directly to the board or mounted remotely and connected with wires. When off, the unit consumes no current so is safe to leave permanently connected to a battery.

Assuming a reed switch is used to activate:

  • To switch on, a magnet is held close to the reed. The on-board LED lights and the output is turned on. After 2 seconds, the LED starts flashing and the magnet should be removed. If the magnet is removed before the LED starts flashing, the output is turned off.
  • While the output is on, the LED flashes briefly every 6 seconds as a 'heart beat' indication.
  • To switch off, the magnet is again held close to the reed. The LED will flash slowly for 3s and then flash rapidly. Removing the magnet while the LED is rapid flashing will turn the output off.

MSW13a 10A Switch Booster

An electronic switch which can be used to boost the current handling of a micro switch, with a MR6xx receiver (from v1.9) to make a remotely operated switch or to convert a P output into a high current F switch. The PCB measures 18mm x 30mm and comprises a resettable fuse, a P-FET switch, a LED and an optional reed switch. The P-FET may be switched on either with a connection to negative or with 2.5V to 5V. The max current is 10A at max 30V DC. The on-board LED can be used to provide an 'on' indication or can be connected to a Micron receiver LED2 output.

Price: from £7.20

MSW01a Dual Reed Switch

A tiny PCB (7x20mm) with 2 reed switches and an optional LED. Intended for use with Micron E-Switch modules to provide a remote switching facility. May also be used with MyLocoSound cards for chuff triggering.
